Mental Health Therapy Tailored for Your Child
Academic, behavioral, and personal challenges are a natural part of growing up, but when concerns arise, it can be difficult as a caregiver to know how best to navigate these challenges. Therapy provides a personalized space for your child to build skills, gain confidence, and work toward meaningful goals while you have a trusted professional to help guide the process.
Beyond the therapy room, Therapeutic Authenticity can help you better understand your child’s needs and navigate the resources available to support them, whether that means exploring academic accommodations, special education services, school-based support, or other helpful resources. The goal is for your child to feel capable and supported—and for you to feel less alone in figuring out what comes next.
Every child is unique, and therapy should be designed with that in mind. I offer an individualized approach that meets each child where they are whether that means shorter, more frequent sessions, in-home visits, or creative and unconventional therapeutic techniques. Together, we’ll find an approach that feels comfortable, engaging, and meaningful for your child that is tailored to their needs, strengths, and interests.
Individualized Therapy
When a child is struggling at school, the stress can quickly follow them home, creating frustration for both children and families. By creating a bridge between therapy, home, and the classroom, we can identify concerns earlier, better understand what your child needs, and work together toward meaningful solutions. With caregiver consent, collaboration with teachers, school staff, and support teams can help ensure that strategies are consistent across settings.
Collaboration with Schools
Your child’s growth is a team effort, and families play an important role in the therapeutic process. Family consultation provides a space to share concerns, ask questions, and stay informed about your child’s progress without placing the responsibility of therapy on your shoulders. Ongoing communication is encouraged so we can adjust support as your child’s needs change, celebrate progress along the way, and identify helpful strategies for home and school.
Family Consultation
You know your child best, and you deserve to feel informed and confident when it comes to their education and Individualized Education Program (IEP). I can help you better understand the IEP process, prepare for meetings, and collaborate with school teams to ensure your child’s strengths, needs, and goals are thoughtfully represented.
Services may include participation in IEP meetings, reviewing educational supports, and helping you navigate available school-based services. The goal is to make the process feel less overwhelming while helping your child access the support they need to succeed in the classroom.
IEP Involvement
Through guided activities and meaningful peer interaction, children can practice communication, problem-solving, emotional regulation, and social skills in a setting that feels natural and relatable. Group therapy is offered when it is clinically appropriate and can complement individual therapy by giving children opportunities to learn from one another in ways that may be different from working with an adult alone.
Group Therapy
Behavior is often a child’s way of communicating what they need, even when they don’t yet have the words to express it. Behavioral interventions provide your child with practical, individualized support to better understand their emotions, build healthy coping skills, and develop behaviors that help them feel more successful at home, at school, and in the community.
Behavioral Interventions
Every child deserves to feel seen, respected, and safe to be themselves. Therapy is a space where your child can explore their experiences, identity, relationships, and emotions without fear of judgment or pressure to fit a particular mold. Care is thoughtfully shaped around each child’s lived experiences, family, culture, values, and sense of self. My approach prioritizes trust, safety, and genuine connection while helping children build confidence, resilience, and a stronger understanding of themselves.
Affirming Care
When your child is experiencing a crisis, it can be difficult to know what to do or where to turn. Crisis management provides families with a supportive safety net during challenging moments, helping you respond with greater clarity, confidence, and a plan for moving forward.
Support is focused on helping your child regain stability while giving caregivers practical strategies to navigate the situation. Together, we can identify triggers, develop proactive strategies, and create a plan for responding to future challenges—so your family feels more prepared and less alone when difficult moments arise.
Crisis Management
Therapy isn’t just about talking—it’s about helping children develop practical skills they can use in everyday life. Skill building focuses on giving your child tools they can practice and carry with them beyond the therapy setting.
Depending on your child’s needs and goals, we may work on emotional regulation, communication, problem-solving, social skills, coping strategies, organization, independence, or navigating challenging situations. Skills are taught in ways that make sense for your child, using hands-on activities, real-life practice, and creative approaches when helpful.
